Two classic thrillers of the 90s. On one side you got Silence.

TSotL became the last film to sweep the major awards at the Oscars. A film featuring one of the most memorable characters in film history, an unmistakable mood present throughout the entire film, unbelievable score, & classic quotables.

On the other side we have Se7en...Fincher's meticulously crafted crime thriller featuring great performances from both leads, tight script with no waste, a haunting mood that keeps you unsettled the entire way through, and one of the greatest twist endings in film history.

So which film you got brehs? Silence or Se7en

Rewatched Silence of the Lambs and a couple things stuck out;

Anytime Clarice interacted with a male character, it was an extreme close up. Actually every shot with a male is an extreme close up.Only at the end do we get a shot with two characters (Clarice and Crawford, at her graduation)

She displays no type of weakness when interacting with other characters, ome scene is when they are performing the autopsy, she turns around to put Vicks under her nose so the men in the room dont see her applying it

When she is at the academy and being summoned to Crawford’s office there is always something going on in the background. Car chase, Boxing, Room clearing. What we normally associate with an FBI movie. That makes the end when she kills Buffalo Bill even more interesting. It’s just him and her in the dark

I could be way off base with my interpretation. One of my favorite movies. Red Dragon on the other hand….

Seven is great too. That’s another conversation
