:pacspit: good riddance, dude caused us our Super Bowl run with his predictable plays, he will fit right in with the Jets

Seahawks fired OC Brian Schottenheimer. His offense set a number of Seahawks’ records. But after meeting last night, it was evident there were philosophical differences between Schottenheimer and HC Pete Carroll. They decided a parting was in the best interests of both sides.

:russ: the Jets would hire me as HC before they hire Schitty.

Don't say we didn't warn you about this clown :yeshrug:

Seattle was middle of the pack when it came to passing vs running. Their 59.59% pass percentage was 14th in the NFL.

It's not a matter of running more. It really is a matter of being more effective. Part of it could be the offensive line just wasn't good enough. But it's not like Seahawks had the best running backs either. Carson was hurt a lot this season and they were relying on Deejay Dallas and Carlos Hyde to hold it together.

Schottenheimer didn't light the world on fire with his play calling so it's not like making a change is a terrible move. But the way forward for the Seahawks is making incremental changes to their offensive strategy and effectiveness. They don't need to run the Ravens offense. That would waste the talent they have in Metcalf and Lockett. Just find a tiny bit of middle ground...
