It was a fail operation, they probably killed a low level member but shababiz were expecting an attack and thus the fight lasted over 1.5 hours. I think Westerners keep making the same mistake by underestimating how sophisticated this group is. The leader will get got eventually but I wonder who will be the ones responsible? I say scorned former members have the best chance like loyal members of afghani/al-amriki etc whom he disposed of.

US special forces have carried out two separate raids in Africa targeting senior Islamist militants, American officials say.

In Libya, US commandos are said to have captured an al-Qaeda leader accused of the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

Anas al-Libi was reportedly seized in Tripoli.

And a leader of the al-Shabab group was targeted in southern Somalia, but that raid appears to have failed.

At least it wasn't a colossal failure, much better than the french seals who were killed trying to do the same thing.
