I liked part two of the Abbott crossover. There were some great moments in it (the 9/11 conspiracy theories, Janine calling Dee a c*nt, the gang complaining about how Fall Out Boy always rips them off). My only problem is that up until the last scene, it's filmed like an Abbott episode and not a Sunny episode. I guess that was intentional, but I wonder what it would have been like if the entire episode was shot like Sunny.
Episode two was fantastic. The fact that they can put out an episode like that after twenty years is crazy to me. Frank literally created this insane plan for no reason other than to teach the gang how amazing cake technology is.
I haven't seen the other two, so I can't comment on them.

its still funny. but time has taken its toll. just little shyt stands out. its definitely time to start looking to that ending arc. remember when Dennis almost left the show? that should've been the wrap up point.
i'd rather a nice noteworthy ending then just this over and over until they get tired or cancelled. that season when they went to Ireland would've been a great point but now its like whatever.

Yea i just finished episode 4 and this is definitely a return to form. They've gotten back to the "random" funny. The show had gotten too on the nose the last few seasons. The ending of the cake episode was classic. Hot pepper episode was classic. Slap fight episode was classic.
Sure you can tell they're not as "natural" in their characters anymore. But it's expected considering they all have other acting jobs now. They're not doing sunny full time anymore. But at season 17, this is as good as a show can possibly be. The writing on this season has been top tier. Great dialogue. Great plot lines.

Just finished the season. It was great. Every episode. Give it a 9 overall. This was the best season since season 11. And according to reddit they brought back two OG writers(Dave and John Chernin). And not coincidentally, season 11 was the last season they were apart of. This really felt like old school sunny again.

Yea the Reddit threads still hitting around 1k replies. So the show is still popular. Think a lot of coli posters just lost interest. The last few seasons been kinda weak.
