We all go through life trying to solve problems, understanding life, daily stress, etc. When is the last time you actually slowed down a bit? American society too is always go go go but we accumulate stress and we never take time to resolve them. What happens? We get sick, lose sleep, strain our relationships, and suffer depression.
Time is precious I know. That's why I suggest seeking out awe.
Seek Out Awe
What do I do? I LOVE nature and the outdoors so I do that. I was in SLC, Utah for work last week and been a few times but I never took the time to see things out there. It's an underrated state if you're into nature like me.
I decided to drive to Moab which is about 3.5 hours south of Salt Lake City and spent two days down there. It definitely changes your reality when you do! I took some pics. Hope y'all enjoy!
One of my FAVORITE pictures from the trip. This quote is so befitting of this:
"Life is a journey, not a destination" -Ralph Waldo Emerson
I saw this cool rock sculpture on my way to the parks.
Dead Horse Point
-This is one of the higher points where you can see most of the Canyonlands Park. Really cool and a simply drive before entering the Canyonlands.

Seek Out Awe
Thankfully, researchers from Stanford and the University of Minnesota have found just what all of us impatient, over-worked people need—a dose of awe. Their study found that when we experience awe—which they define as that "feeling we get when we come across something so strikingly vast in number, scope or complexity that it alters the way we understand the world"—you focus more on the present moment, which expands your sense of time. Which means after you catch an epic sunrise, take in the majesty of a mountain or helicopter over a Hawaiian island, you no longer feel like life is quickly passing you by. You become less impatient and more interested in taking care of yourself and others.
