Serato or Traktor. Both to me are pretty equal. I still have Technics 1210's but for gigs I've been using this. Without question the best controller on the market (uses Serato Itch or Serato DJ software)

and they just dropped the new NS7 II w/ MPC pads and 4 channel mixer with built in effects :ohlawd:

Until you drop 1g for a controller. None of this shyt matter. Just download Virtual DJ for now to test ya skills.

so serato is basically useless without a controller?

what about virtual DJ?
go with Virtual if you're new to DJing, and programs.. Serato is a bit more advanced, and you would need a controller, Serato plates and all that for the ultimate experience with it..

Virtuals really simple to use, and has little helpful additions that make it easier for beginners like the compatible track option.. Seratos not that hard to use, but i think anyone would recommend Virtual for beginners..

lol serato and traktor are pretty useless without the fukkin hardware :dead:

you're wrong... serato is useless without the hardware

use traktor pro.

you can get a bootleg copy and use it with pretty much any asio capable soundcard (vinyl control is another story).

its feature rich and will help you do more than you imagined.

once you get deeper into it you'll realize the benefits of traktor over say, serato (midi clock send, midi mapping, audio signal routing etc.,)

i use both serato and traktor pro but i simply use the serato for ease of crossover from another dj (if someone is playing before me/after me; or if the venue is using a serato mixer)

both internal (no mixer/turntables) and external mixing (mixer/controller/turntables) works wonderfully with traktor.

another point to make is that unlike with serato, traktor allows you to use the full fledged program without connected hardware which can be a big benefit when you're on the road.

serato is the "industry standard" in north america, but traktor runs europe. doesn't seem like a selling factor with us being north americans, but trust me them europeans are on to something every time, and we're just late switching over.
