People ruined the social aspect of the Internet in general. Before high-speed internet was widely available and people could have access to pretty much every website using a mobile device, the Internet was much more pleasant socially. I remember when YouTube comments used to actually be about the video. Now you have a whole bunch of people who once had to keep their opinions/misery, among other things, to themselves being able to have a platform to share it with the world.

Gladly been off all forms of social media for nearly a year now. I haven't felt better, I realized all the stories I was seeing on my news feed where tailored to appeal to my emotions/desires and not logic/reasoning. Once I realized what was going and how everyone else is under the spell, I felt disgusted. Soon as I stopped my mood and productivity levels improved. I watch people stuck to their phone screens for hours, not realizing how much time has gone by.
