politics is a weak point for me so be easy.

Anyway from what I know, the POTUS actually does not make THAT much money a year. Maybe pocketing 400,000 to 500,000 a year. However they surely get favor by being president right? No utilities, fees, everything is prolly paid for. So it goes straight to the pockets.

But what about after?! When the POTUS leaves the office, is he suddenly going to have to bein a job and real bills? Or are they pretty much granfathered into benefits for his service?

Barack didn't see his first million until 2004, and is worth 12 million now.

King of Saudi Arabia sets up a bank account in the Caymans and deposits one million every month for continuing to do business. I thought this was common knowledge.:dwillhuh:

they most likely get a pension afterwards.

here in canada, i think if you serve two terms as an MP (kind of the equivalent of a Senator or House Rep), you get a pension for life.

then there's income from speaking engagements, books, etc etc. they're set for life.

You can easily look this information up.

They get six figures worth of annual compensation every year until they die, after they leave office, not counting speaking engagements or books/etc. :coffee:
I did. I'm aware.

400,000 to 500,000 a year in pockets.

I'm asking will the POTUS be required to pay for his lifestyle after presidency? Once you move out of the white house, is he having to pay for property or rent. I guess the real question is how far does the favor go? Of course he will be paid. But if he's having to live like a normal citizen in terms of paying rent and utilities (which I'm sure wouldn't be too much a downgrade), education for his kids in private locations, food, entertainment. Half a milli a year isn't THAT much.

Surely they'd walk in immense favor and not have to pay for shyt until the POTUS passes away at least? Will his kids who lived in the office also be taken care of past 18?

Presidents get lifetime pensions after they leave. He also gets protection for the rest of his life. If I'm correct I think they also get money to fund their next home, I remember reading about Republicans attacking Bill Clinton for this.

is google broken this morning?
:jbhmm:
Most of what I found on google pertains to his presidency and not post-presidency beyond he would paid the remainder of his life.

Didn't spend too much time searching, but I figured their may be someone really into politics who could explain post-presidency life.
