Question for those with kids. Do you find that alot of it is just really "fake"? I mean, you gotta seem interested in their stories, you gotta fake a whole bunch of amazement to make them feel good, etc. How can you guys do that without being completely annoyed?

P.S.- I wanna have some kids to some day, but I work events where there are a lot of kids some times, so I really see what parents go through. That shyt seems stressful as hell.

Playing along with their inane jokes and fantasies is one of the greatest feeling in the world tbh

No, cuz alot of kids dont even talk to they parents. If yo child opens up and just wants to talk about something u might feel is meaningless and trivial or tell silly jokes and stories, they want ur attention and u best give it to them and not no fake or annoyed shyt either cuz they do notice. My daughter gave me a social studies oral presentation that i didnt ask for or know why she did and it was long as hell but kids do it for a reason, they wanna know if u are going to listen and pay them attention.

THIS! Thank you.

The other day I was watching my daughter play in the grass...mind you, I wasn't even participating. I was just watching. But the energy and overall happiness of a kid who's having fun, being a kid rubs off on you in a way that's not really describable. It's like re living your childhood again. It's an amazing feeling. Watching your kid have fun and be happy with no care in the world, you sort of lose that the older you get, when you mature from life experiences. But she's just there, with a giant smile on her face, having the most fun in the world and she's just playing in the grass. It's endearing watching how something so simple can make a child so happy. Fake? It's one of the most genuine emotions I've ever felt.

Have daughters brehs :mjcry:

I don't fake it with my kids, even when I'm hella tired. I'm always genuinely thrilled with everything they do or tell me.

I guess it's probably different when its your kids, but looking from the inside out, they just seem to consume ALL of your time, and be more of an annoying hindrance than a blessing.

It's a whole lot different. I feel like you when it comes to others kids. My sons are so well behaved and tame compared to others. Other people kids are fukking aggravating because they do piss poor levels of parenting.

Yeah, our daughter is really well behaved as well. I might feel different about this subject if we had a brat for a kid.

Man when my son gets outlandish i let him know. Mainly when it comes to scenarios. I always let him explain himself first. Listening to your kids and engaging them is critical. Personally i feel like any time spent with my kids is time well spent.

Nah, it's actually pretty amazing. My son is three and a half so when he rushes to tell me about his day in school, you hear his ever expanding vocabulary grow and see his growth so gradually...it's pretty damn cool.

Even times when they get on your nerves, you see little things that they do that'll make you smile. My son will sigh and drop his head, just like me, when he gets dragged away from something interesting.

I dunno, it's hard to explain.

It's hard to explain but playing along with my daughter is genuinely some of best times of the day. She's 2 and just hearing her expanding her vocabulary every day and getting so much enjoyment from the most simple things is amazing. She's even picking up a lot of my mannerisms.

I work in a nursery as well and while it's much harder with a bunch of kids who aren't yours som of the dumb outlandish shyt they say is funny as hell.

I love playing along and entertaining their weird and outlandish stories and whatnot.

The only time when it's "annoying" is when I'm woken up out my sleep for some bs lol

The amount of times that I've been woken up so I can help fight off some invisible monster army from whatever power Ranger show we watched :francis:

Breh, raising my kids, only stressful thing was my BM... It all goes to upbringing... My kids knew once we went to an event or I sent them with someone they better not let me hear they didnt listen... Knew better...

My walls & buffet were covered with their artwork... field day ribbons on my entertainment center.. I always taught them education, identity & creativity.. I was proud of all that shyt, never faked it... If you love them you dont gotta fake shyt... Most that shyt comes from outside...
