Why would "God" allow someone to murder 9 of his "children" while they're in his "house", praying?( referring to Charleston, SC)

I keep reading about all of these children being kidnapped or murdered, but why would "God" allow this?

There's much more to ask but I'll leave it at that for now.

Please don't tell me it "was their time too go". I was raised a Christian but once I became an adult and started thinking for myself, I just can't force myself to believe really anything religious

I hate this bs argument. So all the religious, Scholars,Doctors, Business Owners,Scientists and Community leaders are all illogical huh? At one point in time the only literate people were religious people. One thing that annoys me with ya'll athiest brehs,(I got love for all my people athiest or not) are you guys are so divisive. Just because your brother believe in a higherpower doesn't mean you can't communicate with him. No one has proven or disproven the existence of a higherpower,so respect your brothers right to interpet that higherpower(if there is one) how they choose.

Believing in God is a mire matter of faith.
You just have to believe and not question things that seem illogical.
That's what I've learned from going to Church since I was a kid.
A person can try and explain it to you but the more they do the more you realize it doesn't make sense.

Here's the response... "Nobody knows."

OP knows that nobody knows... if anybody knew, they would be the voice of god. But we don't have a voice of god, ergo nobody knows.

Now, we can either close the thread there, or go 30 pages back and forth between theists and atheists hurling insults over interpretation and understanding of religious text. I mean really that's what this thread was designed for, right?

Not religious, but my belief is that God is not monitoring people's actions, "allowing" things to happen. Folks act of their own free will.

No one is immune to anything in life regardless of your faith or trusr. Asking why God allows? Nowhere in the bible does it say following God will leave to a stress free beautiful Harmonic life where everything goes your way and your immune. The bible is littered with stories, Joseph, job, martyrs etc.

In life bad things happen, the good guy can get screwed over and die early whikr the deceitful wicked person lives a rich long life. In a world full of sin, sometimes sin wins
