Serious question, who are the next real mainstream spitters?

I got this new Cole on right now and it has me realizing, This heavyweight beef in hip hop we having is so intriguing because it really is the old guard holding it down with no new soldiers to grab the baton. It's disturbing to think about the state of the game after they decide to hang em up.

Really think about it, Cole's star was born in 2009, Drake around the same time with Kenny stepping into mainstream a couple years after that. 2009 was fifteen years ago.

Who's the spitters that's came into the game and stayed since? I declared Future to be in my top 5 of all time back in 2015 but he doesn't occupy the lane I'm speaking of. Both are necessary to the game but it seems this style of lyrical rap is going underground. Cordae is the only name that comes to mind but he really not moving the needle like that.

Who are the young spitters of today? Polo G? Youngboy? Kodak?? It's spooky out here brehs :mjcry: we need to truly appreciate Kenny and Cole for their contributions cause the game desperately needs it

There won't be any real ones, until the standard gets high again.

Bar is mad low now, which is why the quality in the music and talent pool is so trash. When the listeners start holding MC's more accountable, then we'll start seeing that quality get back to where it was in the 90's.

A new group will come, probably when the big 3 start to like really dwindled and release music really sporadically including features (I know Kendrick already does but you get my point)

We know theres still an audience for lyrical rap and an underground scene (Griselda, Mach, Roc etc etc). Young folks like JID and Denzel Curry but I see them as placeholders cause they're at a level. A few of these UK rappers do rap rap (Dave, Central Cee) but i know thats not enough to catch all the US fans attention and yeah I wouldnt say their high level but they are to young fans and stream well.

I think once the drill and mumble stuff cools off (which it is) eventually labels will find some dude in the south and midwest who can spit bars and put them on modern production and they'll track. Need like a blog era kinda renaissance though and Im curious what platform will come through to harvest them (Like mixtapes, blogs, Soundclouds etc something different cause even DSP playlists are like radio with barriers)

Those "mainstream spitters" you uphold you were told to listen to by the machine.

Sadly rap that naturally gravitates to the top is drill, murder, violence and sex/thot/prostitution rap.

Rappers like Cole, Drake and Kendrick dont naturally bubble to the top without some assistance. (IE: Jayz, Lil Wayne, Dr.Dre)

So

Only two things gon happen,

Either a new class of rappers get cosigned (Which is lowkey what Drake,Cole & Kendrick are suppose to do like their predecessors),

Or

A rapper who naturally bubbles to the top is so cracked he can do it without a major cosign.

There are 0 artists under 30 that I'd consider mainstream with bars like that.

The end of an era
