for u young uns on the-coli I think it's difficult 4 y'all 2 truly understand the total and complete terror that Suge had on the industry back in 96. I'm talking USA, Europe, everywhere. there were so called top london & european djs that wouldnt even take a phone call off him let alone interview the biG bear face to face .in 96 dude was holdin 100 ms which equates to a billi in 2days market.

Yet the young P didnt give a phuck. He dropped a Gem on the West Coast then told Pac who at the time was the number star in the entire universe that he was the Shook One. He was like the educated, articulate and creative superior 2 Chief Keef. He showed the east coast what it truly meant 2 not give a phuck. He did it with absolute brilliance and menace.

P and Nas were in their prime around the same time. Of course Nas had LATB and Illmatic ish under his belt but his IWW era was when his genius truly flourished. Yet P stood line for line with QB's finest on all their collabos during this period

It's weird because the beat afflictions that used to plague Nas is now P's albatross. P needs to get a producer that understands his core being but can take him on a path of growth like Nas successfully did on LIG. He needs to swerve Alchemist and begin a new musical journey. If, and it's a ginormous if (no h?mo), P can do that he might make an impact to break back into the Holy Grail of ToP 5 dead or alive

to me, the only one that is clear cut better than Prodigy is Jay-Z due to his longetivity. I put Pac up there but thinking about it right now...nah Prodigy is my #2. Judging strictly off of the music the 2 put in their prime you cant tell me Big and Pac are above Prodigy indisputably. I am willing to guarantee that Prodigy woulda ate Big on Last Day if he got a chance and beyond that he ripped Pac to shreds on Drop a Gem on em. Objectively Prodigy is a better rapper than Pac.

Bomb first is nothing compared to
Mobb Deep - Drop a Gem on 'Em - YouTube
LL Cool J feat Keith Murray Prodigy Fat Joe Foxy Brown-I Shot Ya Remix - YouTube

:ld:

that shyt was wack lyrically imo compared to bomb first and against all odds.

and lyrically prodigy when i look at his rhyme patterns on paper

none of his shyt actually rhymes on paper and he rhymes the same word sometimes and his patterns are predictable also like i know where the rhyming syllables gonna land next.

Prodigy is top 3 on my list. Right after Nas and Cube. The Infamous, Hell On Earth, Murda Musik, HNIC, and Return of the Mack are all perfect albums to me. Albert Einstein, HNIC 2, and Product of the 80's are good projects. Plus all his classic features and Mobb's unreleased catalog. Dude has put in some serious work over two decades.

It's crazy to me that people would rank someone like Andre 3000 higher than P, when their group discographies are at least even, and P has actually delivered as a solo artist several times over. Mobb has never been a pop group though, so I guess it shouldn't surprise me.

It's crazy how slept on Murda Muzik is

"Never prejudge, it be the humble thatll squeeze slugs" :merchant:

Hell on Earth to me was the pinnacle but Murda Muzik is no slouch.

Allustrious
Adrenaline
Where You From
The Realest
Murda Muzik
Where Your Heart At
Whats ya Poison
Quiet storm
It's Mine

How can anybody think Prodigy fell off or that the album isnt at least a 9/10 caliber. Beyond me :manny: That last verse on Streets Raised me :wow:

his verse on Allustrious is just... wooooooooooooooooooooooo

Almighty Garden State
hes in my top 5

not a fan of Product of the 80's/HNIC 3 etc but he did so much amazing shyt from 95-00. Return of The Mac and Einstein may have been more about the beats but he sounded fine on it, he has a rare combo of seriousness and comedy in his bars. great storyteller, and probably the GOAT voice. him and Rae really sound like New York
