Seth Rogen says he and his wife, Lauren Miller, have discovered the key to happiness in their relationship and lives: not having kids.

Rogen recently sat down for a chat on the episode of Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast, and the subject of parenthood -- or more specifically the topic of Rogen and Miller not having children -- came up.

"That has helped me succeed as well, definitely," Rogen said. He explained that he's managed to focus his time and energy on his career and creative output because "there’s a whole huge thing I’m not doing, which is raising children."

Rogen also addressed something people have told him before, which is that he might be happier in life if he and Miller did have children, which Rogen simply said he didn't agree with.

"Some people want kids. Some people don’t want kids," Rogen said, simply. "Honestly, you just are told, you go through life, you get married, you have kids. That’s what happens. And me and my wife, neither of us were like that. Honestly, the older we get, the more happy and reaffirmed we are with our choice to not have kids."

For Rogen and Miller -- who first began dating in 2004 and tied the knot back in 2011 -- the decision not to bring children into the world has allowed them to "do whatever we want."

"We are in the prime of our lives," he added. "We are smarter than we’ve ever been, we understand ourselves more than we ever have, we have the capacity to achieve a level of work and a level of communication and care for one another, and a lifestyle we can live with one another, that we’ve never been able to live before."

Rogen added with a laugh, "Me and my wife seem to get a lot more active enjoyment out of not having kids than anyone I know seems to get out of having kids."

Good for him.

I can't help but feel apprehensive towards people like him though. My general feeling is that society is churning out more and more nihilistic adults. Some of it is down to society failing younger people (lack of opportunities, wage not matching the cost of living) but I attribute a lot of it to the media we consume.

It doesn't create a positive image to aspire to. It just encourages to point out the flaws in society and bitterly accept them.

The older I get, the more I don’t want kids too. Folks must understand we all don’t live the same lifestyles. I’m cross country and overseas basically every year. I don’t plan to change that any time soon.

What works for you, won’t work for someone else.

Like Seth is married. There are cats who wanted kids but don’t want marriage. Can’t knock them for their desire. Especially if you not paying for it.

He seemed like he was really trying to convince everyone. Don’t care what anyone says. His wife wants kids. Are you kidding me, they are rich as fukk, they can have kids.

Either they can’t have kids, or she is lying. Either way. I’m fine with it, one less child of the synagogue of satan will be born.

I don't have kids. But it's so annoying to listen to people without kids act like people with children are miserable. Because that's really all Seth Rogen is saying here.

"I have time to do all the things I want to do and all the things I need to do" = I smoke weed a lot. Like, A LOT. And not having kids allows me to smoke A LOT OF WEED. And bang my wife sometimes. And if I need to make a movie to fund my lifestyle of smoking a lot of weed, I can do that. Because I don't have kids. And the responsibility of having kids can limit parents' ability to do what they want to do.

That's REALLY what he's saying.
Which is fine.
But that's the subtext and it sounds a lot more goofy than the dressed up bullshyt he said in that video.

Edit - Because I got called out on it in a later post, I'll clarify that it's annoying to have to listen to his explanation for why he doesn't have kids.
But it's fine that he chose not to have kids, as a personal decision.
