Is this even fair? SGA is the more complete player and is much taller increasing his offensive and defensive utility and this is coming from an Iverson fan.
SGA doesn’t miss and gets fouls if he does

Iverson had the more crowd pleasing game but I'm taking SGA all day if I'm trying to win. Much more efficient and better defensively.

Iverson and Melo slander isn’t even being edgy or clever at this point. It’s overdone and cliche.

The older I get, the more I am able to put aside my emotional attachments to feelings or beliefs I had when I was young.
I say that because...you see these comparisons...Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Allen Iverson, and the comparison is deliberately made to stir debate and get the puters puting.
If you saw and enjoyed AI in his prime, it's like "how dare you compare this basketball and cultural legend to a guy who hasn't even been in an NBA Finals?!"
But the way I look at it now is, maybe Iverson was necessary to make it possible for guys like SGA to exist. No good comes out of comparing them or asking which one you'd rather have. Different times. It's like saying would you rather drive a 1999 Formula 1 car, or a 2025 Formula 1 car?
Iverson brought things to the game that players after him iterated on.
Which one you'd rather have doesn't even mean anything.
