Matthews went to Vanderbilt which is Skip's alma so that's probably why he's defending him. He is decent, could be a solid number 2. Their WRs are also young. DGB didn't even play football in 2014. Got drafted in 2015 and played with a rookie Mariota and now he's with another rookie QB.

Facts but I'll just say this kind of offense does not NEED good receivers
Donovan era Eagles did well without them
Slightly different offense but Brady obviously does well without them
Alex Smith does ok with it as well

In this offense you mainly need good TEs , which the Donovan era Eagles had, Brady and smith have
And you just need COMPETENT wrs who you can dink and dunk too
Problem for Eagles is they don't even have that. How many times do we see 8 yard crosses where agholor or Matthews get hit right in the numbers and they can't catch the ball?

if they think sproles is going to keep bailing them out, they are going to be shytting themselves when they run this guy to the ground. My eagles have such a bad lineage of shytty receivers like bottom of the barrel type. Only good receiver i remember us having is TO, maclin and desean ( even though homie is more of a track runner than a receiver). And the receivers i just named didnt last long enough to truly cement themselves. damn shame.
