Why does he need to be on any “network”. He can’t just be on YouTube?

That's what I was thinking. Maybe there's a level of infrastructure on the back end that were not aware that Shannon doesn't want to do himself.
Paying for celebrity guest cost money as people aren’t doing podcast these days for free.
YouTube monetization isn't reliable. You either need subscribers on a site like Patreon or a network for production and logistical costs.

Do you have a link to something that has information about guests being paid for these celebrity podcasts (Shannon's, the pivot, etc.)?
He said he got 2 announcements, one for Wednesday(which is this) and one Thursday. I wonder if that gonna be that he is joining First Take
