One of the biggest reasons for Rozier’s newfound confidence has been the acquisition of Kyrie Irving, someone Rozier referred to as a mentor to him and a guy who he wouldn’t replace for anyone else to lead a relatively young Celtics team.

”He’s just not only there to help me on the court but he’s a guy who, mentally helps me on the court,” Rozier said. “He’s great at what he do as a leader, he’s special to this group -- what we got, our goals that we have. Who’s better to have than Kyrie Irving leading the pack? That’s great for us”

What have those conversations been like?

”It’s been great, funny, all kinds of different things,” Rozier answered. “He’s a character, he’s a great guy -- not what I thought he would be. I thought that he would be more chill [laid back] but he’s a funny guy.

“He’s been our leader from the beginning of the year,” backup point guard Terry Rozier said, according to Taylor Snow of Celtics.com. “He’s vocal and leads by example, so he’s just a great guy to be around off the court and on the court.”

“He brings that winning mentality,” added Marcus Smart, who is the longest-tenured member of the team. “A guy like Kyrie who knows what it takes to win a championship and the things you have to go through, to have somebody like that to come in and stabilize this group where you’ve got a lot of young guys, young talent that’s been thrown in the fire very early, it’s been huge for us.”

Horford has no problem deferring to his teammates and placing most of his focus and effort on the defensive side of the ball. Interestingly, he labeled Irving as the leader of the team.

“Kyrie’s the leader of our team, the head of our team. And for me, it’s just to make sure I’m making things easy for him. Then when the team needs me to step up and score, I will. Otherwise I need to just defend," Horford explained.

There is more to post, but I'm going to stop, because I noticed you've said in a no. of posts that Kyrie isn't a leader, and generally when people are so dogmatic about a POV, nothing you say will change that.

Besides, I'm about to go make me a grilled bologna and egg sammich.

I can't say I've ever met an intelligent woman. :manny:

I have only dated highly intelligent women.

They're still women at the end of the day, and some things don't change, but I can't pretend like I haven't met my share of exceptionally intelligent women in my day.

:what:

I feel sorry for you. I've met hundreds of intelligent women. I probably know half-a-dozen Black women with PhD's alone. Hell, just last week I met a chick from Haiti who is a PhD in microbiology and works for Cornell. My best professor in grad school was a Black woman.

This was a friend of mine from L.A. in the women engineers of color scene. Her bio is :whew:. Virtuoso singer and violinist who has master's degrees from both Columbia and Johns Hopkins (operations research and computer science) and worked for the Department of Defense as a systems engineer.
