How did Dey Know Remix lay the foundation for auto tune rap? I was apart of the ATL DJs pushing that record out and I do not recall it breaking out of the region heavily at all or settign the stage for autotune rap...as for Khaled, what do you mean by that?

nikka I live in California, and that remix was in rotation in me and the nikka's whips.

Come on man, dudes were already messing around with that studio enhancement shyt by that time...you can't credit Wayne with starting all that...

Like who?

I distinctly remember when nikkas premiered that and me and my nikkaz thought Wayne was on some shyt with that auto-tune. Outside of T Pain, no one was using it and definitely not to rap their verses.

man, I'm talking significant impact...true, that record was hot and made noise, but that shyt was not a game changer the way you think it was...even in our city, records like Foolish and Dunn Dunn were heating up and crushing Dey Know until the remix came out

Yeah I gotta agree with @Poitier on this one. That Wayne verse really did start a trend with the autoune raps.

shyt, I think I was about 12 or 13 when it came out. I was at camp in New York that summer and it was just a bunch of us in the back of the bus just rapping the words to Wayne's verse. :whew:
