My grandfather was born in Harlem. I huge him everyday. Most of these idiots don't have no father's or Grandfathers or friends to speak of. So they just talkingMen from Harlem aren't comfortable with affection from Men from Harlem. Society has made them paranoid of getting kicked out of Harlem. I remember way back there was a big deal being made about a picture of a grandfather, a father and a grandson kissing each other on the forehead. The census was it wasn’t Harlem approved and it was for clout. Same thing with that picture of Smokie Norful and his son. I have to find those threads.
I also think society teaches men to compete more. So the sense of brotherhood is sacrificed by a sense of self preservation. Women compete too but they aren't pressured into upholding an unrealistic image of stoicism. My grandfather was born in Harlem. I huge him everyday. I agree with you breh. I find it weird though since in older non western societies brotherhood is stressed as important.I also think society teaches men to compete more. That is a Street thing. Brothers who do not depend on the culture of the Street to survive are not sacrificing brotherhood for self preservation. We already accomplished self preservation by avoiding living the Street life style.I also think society teaches men to compete more. Posting shyt on social media is for clout! The census was it wasn’t Harlem approved and it was for clout.

It's a different era tho, back when we were young people took pictures and put them in photo albums but now instagram, Twitter and Facebook are like online photo albums.Posting shyt on social media is for clout!
Both my parents still married and both showed affection to me and my sister!
Not 1 time have I ever thought of taking a picture of my father giving me affection to post on social media for attention.
Any man or woman that think that is cool is an attention whore loser!
I don't think it's only a street thing because you have black men in the corporate, political and entertainment worlds that will sacrifice brotherhood for a crabs in a barrel mindset. I was just in that Hollywood feud thread and read how Robert Townsend got another actor fired because he was becoming the favorite character on his show the parenthood. That is a Street thing. Go to college campuses, various organizations, and you will see brothers interacting with each other in normal fashions. We don't have to uphold some false sense of manhood based solely on appearances and violence, because we created lives for ourselves and our families that prove our manhood as productive members of the community and family leaders.

I've plenty of times stated do not use the antics of the Entertainment class as a representation for the rest of us. Many in that class have demonstrated they will do anything for Fame and Fortune. This goes for the Men and the Women.I don't think it's only a street thing because you have black men in the corporate, political and entertainment worlds that will sacrifice brotherhood for a crabs in a barrel mindset.
