I honestly think there's too much of a disconnect between mainstream hip-hop and what's going on in the real world for there to be a real summer banger. It's really only frivolous selfish people that haven't placed the issues in this country over partying at this point, so really there should be some kind of pro-black/anti-establishment banger, but no one's taken it upon themselves to put something like that out.

And for people talking about A summer banger, that's not the topic. Of course there are good songs being put out, but there's no go to summer banger like there is every summer. Normally there's a song that dominates everything until like mid to end of July then another one to close out the summer, and there's nothing even resembling that as of now.
I like Jidenna, but you'll be waiting a long time. That sounds like a bad Drake knockoff, no one's checking for that from Jidenna (or checking for Jidenna at all really). He should stick with the Long Live the Chief vibe and focus on making uplifting music, he's too all over the place and is now coming off as someone who will do whatever kind of music necessary to become popular.
