If you’re at the point where you’re reporting gambling income as taxable income, you also report losses and can only write off the losses relative to the income. He was way ahead if he was net mid 7 figures as taxable income
Poker winnings in general are almost always reported as "total prizes won" though. Meaning some high stakes players who may seem 7 figure winners are actually losing (eg. Dan Bilzarian)

I imagine he was likely break even give or take, and his volume allowed him to receive rewards and placing him under the taxable threshold. Many breakeven online holdem pros lived off the rewards (rakeback) of high volume for years.

Man they don't give a fukk about that nikka - and neither do I.
Did you watch the 20/20 special last night? The brother kinda came off as a c00n. The day before the shooting he wore a "Black Hills Matter" shirt to the festival because he thought it was "funny and to represent Black Hills, South Dakota." I only see racist cacs wearing those BLM parody shirts.

I care so little about this shyt that I haven't seen or heard one news report about it. I only catch shyt about this here and there and check in on the threads and Facebook every now and then. I literally have no feelings toward the event or the people that died. None whatsoever. fukk that nikka too.

They got the figure straight from irs tax returns, which would have both winnings and losses since he’s trying to pay as few taxes as possible on the total winnings. And it’s video poker, not straight poker. Some joints in town stopped comping him, which means he was whipping them. They comp based off theoretical win, which is always pretty high if you’re playing that level on vp, and a lot of places don’t think folks can grind out an edge vs vp machines. If they flat out stopped comping him and he’s playing at that level, they have decided it’s not variance and they didn’t think they would come out ahead. There’s some that can win long term, and often the high limit rooms have a slightly more favorable pay table which the casino uses to keep the whales in action. That also helps the advantage vp guys grind. I know a guy who plays 125/ hand video poker. Also one of the sharpest sports bettors in town. He wins very big on both

Every time dumbass shyt like this happens, I just imagine what the Aliens watching rn might think of us. 60 innocent lives ended at a music festival by the hands of a deranged civilian aiming death machines from a hotel room :jbhmm: and the irony is that most of those lives lost probably support politics / politicians who allow the current legislation to continue.

Honestly this one is kinda the scariest mass shooting yet because dude not only went totally undetected leading up to it, but also ripped through hundreds of people from a fukking makeshift snipers nest in a hotel room that was a block away. And there doesn't even seem to be a clear motive as to why he did it. ISIS and Islamic terrorists are chump change compared to what actual people living in this country could do

Yeah, the fact that he was raining down hundreds of bullets from a somewhat isolated vantage point is a very scary scenario. I was tripping off this earlier.

yea but the way the media is reporting the gambling part of the story, you can tell they don't know much... so they could just be reporting on total winnings without accounting for losses.
