fukk the "right" terminology. It should be free for all US citizens because it's what is best for our society. It's not about being owed anything. It's about appropriating our tax dollars to actually benefit our society.

On everything to hell with baby boomers, how dare they say anything about anybody paying for shyt, their parents paid everything for them, the gov't paid everything for them (SSI, medicare/medicaid, food stamps, gi bill, loans, all sorts of entitlements and shyt) and now we cant afford it and money doesn't grow on trees... for everybody else but them:camby:


We already pay for education and healthcare in the form of taxes, I would welcome the idea of reallocating funds to make education & healthcare out-of-pocket costs 0.

my big thing was I did not see the natural basis for "natural rights" in society
there ought to be society rights
rights that you have for participating in society
and if you are alive and capable, then you automatically are given the opportunity to participate in society

to me, natural rights are things people try to explain to or debate over with a prowling lion or tiger

If health care/education are rights, why isn't food? It's essential too. Or why isn't housing a right? Or drinking water? Taxation would have to skyrocket, emphasis intended, to pay for these things. It's a slippery slope. In France, the right to health care has led to a right to regular welfare payments, "free" college, personal nanny services, etc. etc. Only "free" because it's payed for by 60%+ income taxes, including those on the middle class, and Value added taxes, payroll and sales taxes of 20% and higher, it goes on. shyts insane...

Not to mention the whole right to another free individual's labor insanity :snoop:
