But let us talk about the welfare system in college, where the football players pay the salaries of all the coaches from other programs(volleyball, soccer, etc...):sas2:
and have no say over what they do:ld:
why not stop the welfare and let the football players keep some of that money:sas1:

are you guys socialists?:ld:

so Ohio state made about a mil from its college program? this is what you believe?:mjlol:

You're going to defend the person who is tying college affordability with athletics programs?

:mjlol:

Feel free to address the point he didn't, which is whether it's $1 million, $30 million, or $100 million profit, how is that going to impact the 65,000 students at Ohio State paying $20,000 per year?

:mjlol:

Are we arguing about free education as a constitutional right or the profits experienced at college athletic programs?

:mjlol:

College athletes should not be paid.

Posting an unvalidated claim a thousand times doesn't make it valid, just like telling the same lie a thousand times doesn't make it truth.

And it's amazing that you have no problem typing out a false claim a thousand times, but can't bother to even read and pull specific points from links you posted to cement your point.

Again just point to the text in the links you posted that speak to your claim that bigger countries can't do public programs as well as smaller ones. I will even just take page numbers at this point.
@Napoleon :yadontsay:

Just some page numbers pls. Thats all.

All that money is LOAN money.

Its guaranteed money. So of course those numbers are high.

That's not talking about loan money, that's money generated by the school's athletic programs. If you click on each school it shows the breakdown between ticket sales, contributions, licensing rights, and student fees.

So what? You bizarrely brought together the issues of college affordability with athletic program profits... $1 million, $30 million. How does it help?

Ohio State had about 65,000 students in 2014. If you distributed $30 million profit to each student, they'd each get about $460.

Problem solved.

:mjlol:

Where are you getting this info?

If you look at a school like OSU, operating revenue is $4.7 billion and operating expenses $5.2 billion. Many of these schools are up to their eyes in debt and are paying huge amounts of interest on debt even in a low rate environment.

When did I say anything about paying students, I never even said anything about free college tuition in America let alone going that far.

Where are you getting your info from? I can't find anything on school's finances outside of revenue generated by the athletic departments, and we've already seen that your reporting on those numbers isn't reliable.

Did you go to college? I'm serious.

Not all schools have these great athletic programs and they still make tens of millions of dollars

I wasn't talking about those schools in this instance.

I hear ya that they would have a much harder time in finding ways to lower tuition, that I can't speak on, but I'm confident it could be done. Maybe that's being naive.

You can't depend on altruism. The state would have to completely stop offering loans OR legislate how schools spend money specifically.

I'll tell ya this though man..I've seen a lot of people bad mouth you on here, I haven't seen anything to merit that, real talk (EDIT : Nvm I've seen you mock people's belief in God, I can understand how that pisses people off, touchy subject that shouldn't be mocked no matter what you believe, but I don't think that's what has damaged your rep on here for the most part).

You're opinionated and persistent as a motherfukker, which could get annoying, but only to a weak minded person and/or someone who's too stubborn/close minded to approach subjects like they have something to learn. I salue ya bro you put up with a lot of shyt on here and don't let it deter you one bit.

I wasn't trying to offend you wit the college comment, but you made it seem like only universities get money from athleticism...and its not true.

I mean people are in here talking like only D1 schools exist.

I know you didn't mean any offense and I didn't take any, and I realize I could absolutely be showing naivete here, and I don't have solid statistics to back it up, I just feel like if it became a priority (not free college tuition just a concerted effort to lower tuition) then we could make it happen.

Believe me I know feelings and beliefs and ideals won't ever get shyt done, and there would have to be a ton of sacrifice in other areas to make it happen, I just believe it's something that should be front and center and that needs to happen asap, along with other steps, cause America's youth are falling behind.

see thats the thing though...people are getting educated, its just the cost people aren't liking

And people don't like being told what to do, so whereas there are tons of jobs, people are majoring in bullshyt regardless.
