The talent just caught up to expansion and you wanna add more teams? :why: You want everybody in the playoffs? :what: What's the point of the regular season then?

Nah... i'd love to have more teams but there isn't enough talent to go around as it is.

I love the 82 game-season but that 66 game season was fun to watch tho too many people got hurt because of the tight schedule and back2back2backs
Nobody got hurt for real in the strike season.

More people got hurt last year and this year

Many players got nicked up from what i remember and you could tell most were fatigued by the 3rd of those b2b2b's. Mofos were running the court and had barely any lift in their legs

Add teams in Seattle and KC or St Louis. Make each conference 16 teams. Have every single team make the playoffs.

Playoffs would be:
Round 1 - best of 3
Round 2 - best of 5
Round 3-5 - best of 7

This basically turns the current first round into a best-of-5 like it used to be and adds a 3-game first round. It adds one playoff game for a team if every round goes the distance (28 now, 29 in this format).

This also would necessitate a change to the draft lottery. Odds could be rebalanced among all 32 teams, restricted to the 16 who lose in the first round, or just the 16 worst records. I like the last option the least since teams could still tank to get into the lottery and just give up homecourt with the idea being that if they aren't good enough to win on the road then they want a shot at the top pick.

What's not to like about this idea?
:what:

The ideal situation for ME would be for every state in the country to have one team but that would put it over 50 teams and there is no enough basketball talents to go around. I guess them small states can eat off DLeague
