hypothetically speaking let's say we all crash landed on an island somewhere and we had no drinking water.

then, luckily... someone discovers a well of fresh, clean spring water.

the question is this. who does that water to belong to?

should this person have the right to exploit everyone else on the island or should the water be communal? how would you feel if he said it was HIS water and charged everyone a few bucks for a drink?

my point is this:

why do the 1% control so much? the land, the oil, the RESOURCES. things we ALL use and things we ALL need?

The basic answer to your question is that the 1% use government and law enforcement to protect what they have. The guy on the island can only hold his monopoly as long as he can protect that well. If he's overrun by the people, he's shyt out of luck. In the real world, the 1% are protected in numerous ways so attacking them is nearly impossible.
