shouldn't a position player pitching be against the code?

t disturbs me as a one time historian of beisball to see the sham if position players like Adam dunn out there pitching.

Its the equivalent of a Richard Sherman lining up under center in a blowout and throwing the ball.

It was a 16-0 blow out. It wasn't like Adam Dunn was going to change the outcome of the game.

It makes a mockery of the game
Well, kind of and kind of not.
If the Texas Rangers, being up 16-0, put in a shabby player to pitch, that would be a mockery and insult. The White Sox put in the player as a pitcher when they were down 16-0. It's not new. I know the Pirates have turned to an infielder who had a crazy knuckleball, that was his one main pitch.

Baseball is so wack. I saw the highlights amd only in baseball would a team getting raped be laughing about it.

I wish the Yanks would make Ichiro pitch. I heard he could do it

the fact that baseball has a 'code' pisses me off more than adam dunn pitching 1 inning in a 15 run blowout
Lol, what? Every sport has their own "code" or unwritten rules

Not to the extent of baseball, cmon man

Also, its extremely rare you hear anybody discuss unwritten rules of football, hockey or basketball. I hear them about baseball every season from the talking heads
