Shouldn't Kevin McHale be getting some Coach of the Year buzz?

This team is about to be tied for second in the west and it's basically been Harden and a bunch of cast-offs doing it all season. I know McHale catches a lot of flak on here, but he's gotta be doing something right for this team to be in the position it's in.
So this is the new popular thing to say this year since "GS gonna lose in the first round" is losing its steam huh?

Lurch deserves more credit than what he is getting...

Morey treats this team like he is playing nba2k franchise mode...

Does Lurch have one player on his team right now that was on the team even 3 years ago?

So name these coveted players on the team. :heh:
Did you watch the game today? or the one where they came very close to beating the Hawks without Harden or Howard and built a 17 point lead in that game? Nah you just writing off an entire roster with the exception of 1 player to support your narrative and its pathetic

There's been several games this season where his supporting cast of "cast-offs" have carried the load

It couldn't be because McHale is doing a good job with what he has?

Smith was cut from Detroit; Brewer was acquired for a second round pick; same with Prigioni; Beverley was a cut second round pick; Ariza is shooting around 40%; Dwight's missed half the season; Montejunas (sic) was an afterthought before the season; Ross isn't gonna be getting a $15 million/year deal.

Again, where are all these great players?

I'm not knocking McHale. This is just like the 3rd time i'm seeing this "Harden's supporting cast is trash" bullshyt in threads today. It's not true. McHale can do a good job with what he has cuz these players are not trash. Harden getting 2x^2 +5 free throws a game (x being number of shots) also helps

Yes, he deserves some consideration. He likely wont win it because most people have already made up their minds that Kerr or Budenholzer will get their vote, but the job he's done with Patrick Beverly as their starting PG is remarkable. Im hoping people will start to realize hes not a lame duck coach anymore, but of course, we have yet to see what happens in the postseason

J Smoove, Brewer, Beverley, terry, Ariza are all seasoned vets. They might not be likeable players but I wouldn't call them cast off.

It's kinda crazy how we undervalue seasoned vets bc we've seen them in their good and their bad as oppose to a younger player who hasn't been tested yet. A younger player might have more upside side than a seasoned vet but that doesn't have anything to do with what's going on today.

They have the third best record in the league. Do you think they have the third best roster, especially with all their injuries? :comeon:
