So they got these Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne cats wrestling on NXT, and haven't mentioned the UK strap at all on TV. It seems to me like if and when the belt gets defended, it would be on NXT.

Isn't this already burying the title, saying it's basically a minor league strap? And in the process, it would seem to be a low key burial of the UK ,by Vince saying its not worthy of being seen on the same level as the UNITED STATES title.

Not that I agree or disagree with that last sentence... but it does seem to me like the championship of the entire United Kingdom, which includes a major country in England, should get a little more shine :jbhmm:

Pip pip cheerio to all the UK coli brehs, how do ya'll feel about this?

ehh, it'll get there. I just think they don't have all their ducks in a row yet as far as creating the WWE UK TV Show.

So for now, just keep it on the platform(WWE Network) where ppl know it. Then when they get closer to the UK TV Show, then they'll hype them on RAW. Plus they're still tryna get the CW's over on RAW.

1 thing tho: I bet you will see the UK belt defended at Wrestlemania. It'd be stupid to not have a match there with that crowd. And they'll prob be on RAW leading up to WM

well it could be at Takeover.

But with the eyes of the fans all over the world watching WM, it'd be dumb to not have a title match there. The crowd will be interested during the match b/c WM crowd is a smark/international crowd. Then announce there wil be a new show coming this summer to the UK.

I honestly think they used the UK title bouts to kill two birds in one stone: take less risk financially by maintaining continuity in NXT TV tapings, and helping that show out with talented performers in main event matches.

The NXT audience was also as predicted: more receptive to the talent. By giving it the spotlight for a couple of shows, it was given more importance than somewhere early on RAW (especially given Show vs. Strow as the last main event of that show).

I think they're being clever about slowly building credibility for a title and small set of stars they have to introduce through association. Great plays to keep both NXT and the UK title relevant. Not a slight.

The time zone thing might mean that for now they want to focus on building the sub-brand w/ the live audience

Semi-related: I think they should call it the WWE British and Irish Championship

The tournament was rushed before the weekly show was ready because they wanted to quickly tie up some of the UK talent while they still had a chance to do so. They've seen how hot the territory is for wrasslin right now and the World of Sports TV deal spooked em so it was critical for them to sign guys to deals where they could control which bookings their signees take.
