Besides his stand up and show, Bernie was a naturally funny dude. His cousin co-owned a bar with my cousin until my cousin passed in 04. My family use to hang out there regularly and they said Bernie would stop by if he was doing a show or in the area. Obviously not often since didn't leave around here.
