Tyson, Shump and JR :francis:

We are in agreement, Phil had the right idea but sold all these players at their absolute lowest

Had he held onto Tyson, he would have gotten way more towards the deadline for him imo

The Melo contract cannot be defended

Knicks gonna knick

Did Phil have any choice? If he did, I can guarantee he would have let Melo walk. He would have got killed by Knicks media and fans if he didn't give him that contract

Most of the smarter knick fans didn't want Melo with that contract for most of last year... Once it got closer to free agency though, pretty much all of them (at least on here) changed their tune and wanted to keep him

If Phil thought it was best for the team, he should have let Melo walk... Phil has always been outspoken and defiant, so I don't buy the excuse that this was a Dolan call...

Phil is outspoken and defiant as a coach, there is a difference between benching a player and letting the best player on the team walk. Melo makes Knicks money, and smart fans doesn't equal to all fans, there are a lot of casuals fans who would have killed Phil and Dolan, especially if Melo was in the playoffs right now and contributing

Because phil is a GM and not a coach, now he's a sell out? Ultimately his goal was to make NY into a winner, he's failing miserably so far and he's admitted as such... Getting the 4th pick sets them back, and stars with half a brain won't want to play with Melo

Your logic and argument just shows why the Knicks are consistently awful... So Phil should sign an overweight selfish ball hog with bad knees entering his thirties because the fans will be mad if he doesn't?

Did danny care about the fans when he traded Pierce and Kg? now look at how well the celtics are set up for the long term, he gets paid to do what's best for the team and shouldn't be worrying about an irrational fan base...

If the Knicks had kept Chandler

Did a sign and trade with Melo to the Bulls for mirotic and butler (which Bulls were offering) they are a better team today tomorrow and next year
