average - good album nothing special. the higs are very good - Bad Boyz, Bonnie & Shyne, Commission, That's Gangsta. but there's some horrible songs on there IMO i was never feeling It's OK, nikkas Gonna Die sounds amateurish, Spend Some Cheese :scust: and for all that talk i heard about him being a Biggie clone, i didn't hear it that much on the album. I recently heard the bootleg/original version of the album with a lot of different songs and he DID sound a lot like BIG on some of those songs so i can see where that came from. i think they def used some beats that they had saved for Biggie and gave them to Shyne, it's even more obvious on the original version of the album. at the very least they were going for that same feel.

I straight hated this nikka until I heard this album though, it was a definite banger! I think the BIG comparisons were premature, prolly cause of how husky Shyne's voice sounded. If he woulda came out of prison rapping like how he used to be prolly coulda been something. But then again it seems like in today's rap climate nobody really care about REAL gangsta nikkas no more, hell look where Maino's career is.

Shyne was my favorite rapper at some point between the Club NY shooting and him getting the 10 years, I had every unreleased track and freestyle, I recorded 'Bad Boyz' video on VHS and played that shyt everyday, I followed the trial like it was my family member, everyday in school on the computer Courttv.com and MTV.com, this album was all I wanted for the longest time, music wise. I was just starting high school, I walked to school everyday with this in heapdhones, and on campus too, on some evil shyt like 'What Ya Gonna Do' and 'nikkas Gonna Die'….The nihilistic, bleakness of the lyrics and production was just in me, I felt every bar on that album….It is uneven, and there are at least 5 tracks that are trash, or simply uninspired….but the bulk is solid, I still fukk with old Shyne. I remember 'When I Die', and 'Diamonds And Mac 10's' before 'Godfather Buried Alive', I was playing those tracks in 2001.
