There is a unit list, it is in the Civilopedia. The game is not exactly what i expected, i thought it would be more different than a sci-fi themed civ 5. But i got it for "free" so its fine.

i mean the unit list that tells you what units you have in the field and lets you click to their location from the list
btw i love the tech web. you have to consider whats useful for real, where in civ v you can set a goal and let it rock. thats an improvement imo

game is boring AF. I'm in like 3 hours into a game and have had no interaction with AI factions and a couple fights with aliens.
im not gonna lie, this turned out to be a disappointment. its a decent game but brave new world still shyting on it in every way.
at the same time im kind of happy to have the time for some other games...at least dragon age

yes outside the tech tree it feels like a game mode for civ V

Civ IV was the last entry that really grabbed me, imo.
