you think it's feasible to start a coli investment group? Like the same way people donate funds for the site, but a whole bunch of people donate $5 or $10 in an investment fund.

Then use the gains to open a small clinic(recruit volunteer doctors and new grads) or urban farm or organic grocery store in a city like Philly, Atl, Detroit, or rural Florida where people would need it. I don't even live in any of these cities(live outside the US) but I'd paypal a fund to support a small clinic(or health store) through the coli.

There's enough posters on here to do it, since we always post about building something. Maybe we could get two or 3 cities going. Any investment gurus read the coli?

But it would have to be very well organized... I honestly don't think it could be done here though. People just wouldn't agree on what to do permanently...

I think it would be interesting to see if we could select a different ''project'' every month and donate to that cause... Then post photos and documents with the results...

Example: (And this is just to say something from the top of my head) We can post about people or organizations that need help and vote for the '' Project of the month'' And we all donate to that...
That way we could help people like you suggested and we avoid a lot of the costs and work that would involve actually opening a new thing.

if there's checks and balances, the people who write the checks should be in a different city than the project, and post the finance reports in a subforum for everybody to see.
I think there's enough people here to pull it off if enough people donated $5 to $10 a month for some small clinics or organic grocery story.
