I've noticed that most radio stations in the major markets(NYC, LA, DC) are editing out the Negro in "you mix that Negro with that Creole..." line.

It may sound like a harmless radio edit...but why are they taking it out?

Music is a business just like everything else in this country. When you run a corporation you try to aviod all the bullshyt and petty law suits. So it's safer to censor it then to leave it uncensor and some twitter social group gets upset.

I get all that but the song is about showing off her blackness.

Fried chicken...collard greens...Jackson 5 nose...Afros...

The lyrics exude blackness. Editing that out feels worse IMO

Yeah I feel you. i think the same. But "Blackness" is a touchy subject in America. They actually try to boycott her shows for the black panther performance.

They DONT edit words like "percocet", "adderall", "codeine", "xanax". Atleast not on urban radio. Ive wondered about that myself. I think those references should be censored.
I was listening to straight up menace on Apple Music one day and the edited out the word japs:stopitslime:
