Black women have been wearing their own hair in their own nations when they have been free of outside influences and brainwashing.
The reason I said I dont feel sorry for them is because they replicate this behavior all over the world. Its a cultural element now - no longer needing the influence of outsiders.
From Africa to Miami to the Caribbean.... Even in black nations - you see the same thing - so I cant really accept the "laws and brainwashing" excuse.
a desire to conform since conforming meant upward mobility, acceptance, and sadly enough an escape from possible violence in other nations outside their own. If not wearing another person's hair it was the changing of their hair to match that of where they were, something that at one point, even black men did.
correct - which is understandable - especially in situations where people are under a military occupation. I understand that.
But we free now.
You're viewing this too simplistically in an attempt to indict black women as this monolith of foolishness when in fact many of them are merely victims of a society that has not given them much leeway due to one reason or another. It is like this: black women have a hair texture that is entirely unique and makes them stand apart from many, if not most groups of women. For this reason, immediately, they are cast into an unenviable role of being something of an outcast.
depends how you look at it... In my opinion, the hair industry should belong to them. The only reason I can
tolerate the fake hair bullshyt is because I know alot of BW who do hair and its a big source of cash.
I can put my feelings to the side when theyre bringing revenue to the community, but this hair shyt is sending billions out the community.
Too much going out, not enough coming back.
they are their own beauty standard, afrocentric beauty standard.
