Single mother gets $1,400 tip delivering pizza to church
A single mother of three got the best tip of her life – $1,400 – after delivering pizza to a Tennessee church.
The biggest tip Audrey Martin had ever received in four months working for Domino's Pizza had been about $10, she told ABC News.
But on Sunday, Covenant Life Church in Rocky Top, Tenn., ordered 10 pizzas for the children's Bible study.
Reverend Tony McAfee called Martin on stage to pay for the pizza and then asked the congregation to chip in for her tip.
Music played and dozens of congregants approached the stage – hugging Martin and handing her money as she wiped away tears of joy.
Martin, who'd never delivered pizzas to that church and wasn't even scheduled to work on Sunday, stepped off the stage $1,400 richer.
"I can finally get a place for my kids because I recently lost my apartment," Martin told ABC. "And I was thinking how I could give my kids a good Christmas."
While a few volunteers tallied up the tips, McAfee joked with the single mom, whose kids are all under 5 years old.
"Anybody that waits tables can tell you that the worst day is Sundays because church people are tight and stingy,"

he said. "But let that not be said of Covenant Life."
That Creflo stimulous package saving our...um....someones single moms.
