Before I begin....no this is not a women bashing thread. :hubie:

Over the years an increase of women (all races) have chosen IVF and being a single parent by choice. I'm curious and have three questions. Answer any you feel you have input on. Again, no women bashing.

1. Fellas. If you are open to getting in a serious relationship with a women with kid(s). How would you feel if she says there is not father and she had an IVF procedure?

2. Ladies and Fellas. What do you think the impact will be on society if more women continue having kids through IVF.

3. Ladies. In this context, do you think women focus on the joys of motherhood and don't factor the hardships of being a single parent by choice. Even if she is financially stable with a steady stream of income.

Sure.

I think it's weird for a woman to purposely have children without a father around. I think children need both a mother and father -- ideally, anyway. No matter how people want to pretend otherwise, men and women see the world differently and have different things to offer and instill in children. And I think it's arrogant at best, and harmful at its worst to think 1 parent can give a child a balanced upbringing. So I'd question the judgment of a woman who thought purposely raising a child alone was a good idea. Sure, many men and women have to raise children alone out of necessity. And many children from single parent homes grow up to be fine. I'm just saying...why purposely make things more difficult than they need to be if you have a choice in the matter?
