But I hardly ever hear young black folks talk about traveling to any African country. Its like the only place people want to travel is MIA/LA/Vegas and any talk about crossing the Ocean is to some European country.

Are we really that far removed that we'd rather backpack in Europe than see what Africa has to offer?

Depends...I tune out the white folks at my job. Any black folks talking about traveling will at least bring up the Caribbean.

I'm reading up on trying to get my work visa so I can go to Lagos, Nigeria to make money and live for a couple.

I need a break from this country mayne. I'm soooooooooooooooo sick of it now.

Plus, I need to visit the place my dad came from...I just want to see it for myself.

I have family in East London, I've been to London, traveled through Spain and Portugal...

I just think of that headnod I give to another black person when I'm in an overwhelmingly white and alienating area, and I'd rather go to Africa at this point...I'm already setting my sights on Lagos. I need that experience to help me grow as a black person, African, man, and an individul.

Prices are never really that bad....but no I won't make it this year just started new job. Pretty much using all my vacation for World Cup
