At a recent BMW North American meeting, the German automaker announced that six diesel models will be heading to America within the next two years.
The leaked image of a presentation slide reveals that BMW will bring over a 3-Series sedan diesel in the first half of 2013, and will follow it up with a 3-Series diesel Sport Wagon offering in the second half of the year. The third quarter of 2013 will see a 5-Series diesel offering while the X5d SUV model will make an appearance before years end.
Kicking off 2014 will be the German automakers flagship sedan 7-Series model in diesel form along with the X3d both will debut in the first half of 2014. While actual powerplant information was not disclosed, its believed that the 2.0-liter diesel powerplant will be the one making an appearance, at least in the 3-Series models.
This would confirm our earlier reports that the 2.0-liter, turbocharged diesel engine with 180 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque would be making its way to America.
320d's are nice little cars, I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they come to the US in stick and aren't charging an outrageous premium.
