Six Flags CEO blasted over ‘day care for teenagers’ remark, price hikes

Six Flags customers vented their outrage on social media, with some call calling for the CEO to be canned.

Six Flags’ new CEO is facing a revolt from customers and Wall Street analysts alike over his aggressive moves to hike prices at the theme park — not to mention his snooty attitude.

In a Thursday conference call, Chief Executive Selim Bassoul said the company’s 27 parks had become “cheap day care centers for teenagers” and that price hikes were necessary to attract more affluent families.

Bassoul, who was named CEO of the Arlington, Texas-based chain in November, added that he was aiming to attract the kinds of families who shop at Target rather than those who shop at Walmart and Kmart.

Six Flags customers vented their outrage on social media — with some call calling for Bassoul to be canned.

“After that call, I will not keep my membership.” one Reddit user fumed on Thursday. “You can have your now 7-11 park with nickel and dime strategies while ignoring how it looks. You are pricing out everyone except middle/upper.”

Why not just impose an age limit for teens without a parent or guardian?
Cause he wants to make money. People know Black consumers they'll have fake nikka outrage for a week and then turn around and support the thing that they claimed to have a problem with.

If he made the logical decision to just require an adult supervisor then that would mean kids couldn't hook school and go to the park.

Frankly I thought there was an adult requirement, I didn't know a bunch of kids could just show up if they scraped together the enterance fee.

Honestly I get what dude is saying. Should have a policy requiring teenagers have a chaperone.

For those who remember Astroworld, that shyt go bad at the last 5-10 years of operations. Unsupervised teenagers running around fighting at every major weekend and big holiday events. Families stop going and the park eventually closed. Its happening at Six Flags Over Tx and Hurrican Harbor.

You gotta make adult decisions.

At this point I can't blame him.

I can't even get mad at somebody for wanting to keep a certain type of "energy" away :mjpls:
I just left the Alvarez Afro Colombian festival last night in Cali There were defenitely several tens of thousands of Afro Colombians of all ages there. Including kids and they were selling stong ass liquors there, shyt was free so price wasn't a barrier. There was pushing to get in but not one single incident.

I can't even blame it completely on single momma raised boys because the same issues with Afro Colombians are at play as in the states i.e you don't see many Black women booed up like that.

Because it's not just teens. :mjpls:
