Smoke crack brehs.

Come on now. The Death Row version has a MUCH better beat than that simple little repetitive guitar lick on the original. Pac had so much more on energy on the Death Row version as well and an extra fourth verse as well.

Translation:

Timbaland stayed in the studio all day creating the track

DeVante showed up at 3am, heard the track, played some keys over it, put some sprinkles on it, then mixed it

Same shyt we give Dre and Puff flack for today

Listen to the track again breh

You can hear what Timbaland laid down and what Devante added to it

Not taking anything away from Devante at all

He was probably my favorite musical mind for a good part of my childhood

But it's obvious how much Timbaland contributed to his later productions, especially on No More Pain

Just look at the songs Timbaland made after that record and compare them to what Devante made

You know that's a classic sample right? And it sets the tone for the song and fits the theme perfectly. The Daz version is too upbeat and has too much going on to do the lyrics justice. I'll concede that the extra verse is a nice bonus.

Both are dope, which version I prefer usually depends on my mood.

Funny thing bout Daz production is it hasn't sounded as good since Death Row.

Same argument could be made for the majority of the Death Row producers.

At DR, Daz had access to a multi-million dollar studio and top engineers and seasoned musicians, etc. When he left he never invested in this stuff and started releasing multiple albums a year. A decline in quality was inevitable.

Meh I don't think the sample is really classic. I'm a Zeppelin fan but that's just a simple little 2-4 bar guitar riff loop. It gets boring and repetitive after a while. Too much going on in the Daz version? That's what makes it better than the original. And plus Snoop on the hook too :banderas:
