Sounds like a lot, but look at it like this. My grandparents died aged in their late 80s/ early 90s less than ten years ago. Grandpa was born in the 1910s, that's like kids now referencing to the Civil Rights era. Grandparents had family who were older and were either slaves or directly raised by former slaves, and raised kids in the segregated south who then raised me any my siblings/cousins (granted my mother had kids later in life). It's really not that far removed.

What a shocking revelation:heh:

We were enslaved here damn near three times the amount of years we been free. Of course we are still effected. My great grandparents on my pops side were the children of former slaves and both were alive while I was. It doesn't help that things have been pushed on us like drugs, govt assistance, and the prison industry that only help keep us mentally in chains.
