This happened 5 years ago but I'm just now seeing it
:mindblown:

He was having difficulties with the sound system so they bood him. Slick Rick is a seasoned enough performer to know what kind of crowd he was dealing with so he had his Dj play a song from an Irish rap group from California and they went nuts
:mjpls:

I miss the old Ny. We need to start supporting Ny artist more. Casanova is arguably better than Tekashi69 but he don't get the same attention... I guess because he doesn't do all that trolling. Young MA is dope but a lot of y'all got a problem with her being too masculine.. at the same time y'all cool with Tekashi69 having long rainbow colored hair
:sas1:

Remember in 2013 when Trinidad James (a boutique store owner from Atlanta with painted finger nails) performed in Brooklyn and told the crowd to their face that the South runs Ny?

His approach was wrong but he was speaking the truth. He wants to see Ny being Ny again and I do too.

:yeshrug: nyc is gentrified. its not the 90s breh
What does that have to do with anything? NYC is still 25-30% black as it was in the 90s and 80s. The gentrification has more been about pushing people out to the city limits but also places like Mt Vernon, Yonkers etc. Not that people just move out to Kansas.

Also, you think crowds didn't behave badly back in the days, I mean in the 90s everyone was MLK, no white people listened to hiphop, and all raps, technology and shows were 5 mics, but still.

Slick Rick's solo shows are trash.
He really stands on stage with his hand in his pocket rapping over his own vocals.

He was doing that 7-8 years ago, so it's only getting worse.
