Listened twice now. It’s far better than you’d expect from a 60 year old rapper. I’d have happily listened for another 15 mins or so.

I guess he‘s the first to do this. Be that age and make a quality hip hop project.

...Which I just realised ties in nicely with the track ‘I Did That’ off the album.

:ehh:

The way Slick Rick was floating on Angelic he’s still got a better flow than 99% of rappers AND he can articulate his words so you can understand what the nikka is saying. Not like playboi carti where it’s all “just a vibe”
Facts, Rick is one of the truest examples of an MC.

Speaking of Nas verse, about his last line:

"Pulls at my heart strings just to say
I gotta a song by Ricky and Nas, Black Bonds"

Makes me think the original title was Black Bonds..

...AND it makes me think Nas forgot he already had a song with Rick :russ:

What makes it all the more funny is Rick already had a song called "Bond" too, on "The Ruler's Back" 🤣

This song is released via Nas label Mass Appeal. I’m sure thats what makes it extra special to him

It did what it did. Main part is, he hasn't lost a step lyrically!

He made a ALBUM in a time when most people not accustomed to albums. Jeezy came thru and made everyone think every song on an album should be a banger. Forgetting the hip hop format in the 90s that perhaps maybe ONE track has the ability to be a banger.

I'm happy with the album.

***Look for my movement GOOD MUSIC COST MONEY. My attempt to stop the streaming and make hip hop albums sale again***
