I bet he has another project just sitting ready.

That’s how I’d look to maximise my exposure and income from a return if I was The Ruler.

More articles, more clicks, more threads created, higher engagement, more favourable in the algorithms.
That would be dope but my guess is everyone involved in these Mass Appeal releases are gonna let each others projects breathe before dropping another album, if the releases go well an accompanying tour would be smart.

Have to say I'm quite disappointed with the release of this album.

Marketed as a visual album, so naturally there was speculation on what that would mean for an audio relase. Looking likely it's extremely similar in length. I've had the album nearly 2 days at this point and held off listening waiting for the film that was supposed to be a 'same day release'.

It's marketed as a visual album so obviously I wanted to experience it the proper way it was created. But that's not been possible. It's really killed my buzz for it to be honest. I know I'll enjoy it but I cant deny that the anticipation is just gone now. I'll see it when I see it.
You haven't listened then? Waiting for the visuals for 1st listen?

Basically how I feel. 15 songs at 27 minutes most def feels like a sampler more than anything, so this honestly makes me hype for whenever he releases his next project. Minus the house tracks, I would add “So You’re Having My Baby” to the standout list of tracks everybody else has already mentioned
This might very well be his Swan song, if he waits the same amount of time between projects he'll be pushing 90.

That Nas and Slick Rick cut is just what hip-hop needs. I like how it sounds like something from the early 90’s.
That's the only track I heard so far and it definitely made me anticipate hearing the whole project, Just a unlikely wish list thing but I always thought a collab album with Nas and Slick Rick woulda been bananas. At least we got a couple songs.

Yea thats my only issue with the promo for this album. The movie should have been released in conjunction with the music since they were made to be experienced as one. This looks fire, hopefully they put it out by Monday after Tribeca is over.
I agree it shoulda dropped simultaneous but we do gotta step back for a minute and marvel at the fact we got a rapper visual album debuting at film festivals and shyt. Hip hop came a long way.

Slick Rick is really timeless. His last album came out in 1999 but he sounds as fresh as ever and his story telling style will never grow old. Everyone loves a good story. Landlord :wow:
Sometime last year I front to back'd Great Adventures and there was only a couple tracks that didn't age well. Slick Rick transcends space and time.

As it’s a shorter album you could use this playlist to build it out a bit further. It’s @KingSol81’s playlist which has a bunch of recent Slick Rick features.

I'm waiting til the visuals drop to dig into the album, in the meantime I'm gonna see if theres enough loosies to make another album length playlist from the decade or so before this playlist, I think I spanned 12 years with this one working back from this year. IIRC theres at least and ep worth of loosies from a couple.years before and afte TAOST.

Humm...so is the Mandy that's listed as co producer on some tracks his wife?

Yup, Mandy Aragones (his wife)

This pretty much sums it up for me too.

Rick is still Rick. The album is cool, but mad cuts were left off that I was hoping would make it. But I think Rick wanted to go with the joints he produced more than what he had from other producers. At this rate, he can keep dropping dope sh*t until he's 80, if he felt like it.
Can you link me to the source for album leftovers breh???
