Which beat was this?

This song was everywhere in 07, I got put on by listening to Mike Jones and people telling me to listen to this instead :dead:

Aside from the Houston beef stuff, a lot of the sophomore shyt flopped. That My 64 song w the Eazy sample and Snoop feature probably wasnt cheap for the label and didnt blow up. Also theres this one Paul Wall interview talking about Mike Jones doing studio sessions with Swizz and other huge producers and kind of blowing them off, Kanye said MIke didnt want any of his beats either, label probably just saw it as not worth it anymore and he burned his hometown buzz so never came back from it

Mike album SUCKED, thats why the industry stopped fuccing with him. I remember having a copy of that shyt. The only good songs was the singles.
Who is mike Jones album was pretty good. I just think the beefs killed the momentum. Hell you had slim on a hit Beyoncé record and couldn't capitalize off it, even had Neptunes giving him beats. Crabs in a barrel mentality and face siding with TI wasnt a good look

I don't think many people have heard this song ... isn't this Mike diesel lol

Mr. Jones was the lead single from The American Dream......it didn't hit, on top of him dropping it long after his buzz died down on a national level.

He had all the right elements to make the song take off, sounded good in the speakers/club, sing songy hook...and it could've been an anthem for the losers/bums who finally got themselves some motion.

Wayne saw how he didn't do what he should've done with the beat, took it and that's that.

That album was very good, including having some deeper cuts better than some of the singles

When you’re a one hit wonder you gotta back it up on your follow up album real quick before your buzz dies

When your a rapper and you don’t make your own beats your success is out of your control

He had multiple hits and buzzing songs, but the rest of that is correct. The stuff heading into his second album just wasn’t hitting like it should have
