North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I understand T3 is an original member but no Dilla, no Baatin.. you drop your best lyricist, I mean what what point do you just become a hollow name. You should've just let SV retire gracefully and formed a new group with a new name. T3 only tarnishes the name and legacy by holding on to the name and putting out meh material with members I don't know nothing about, who don't stand out and are forgettable.

SV wasn't able to sell with their original lineup in the late 90's/early 00's. no way they will sell now. might as well abandon the name, cuz it's not gonna help them anyways. plus it's ridiculous when 2/3 OG members are dead.

Honestly when Dilla left it wasn't the same. Elzhi is a great rapper. Top 10 right now. But in the context of the slum, dilla gave them that sound. He was behind most of the style and cadences they use. When they would chant together, dilla arrangements were key. Baatin was the wild dude. Their ODB. And T3 had too many flows. They were like the beatnuts. Wasnt super lyrical but they presented their ideas creatively. I still bump Fantastic 1 and 2.

Fantastic Vol. 2 is a masterpiece. You can really tell Dilla's production and arrangement influences throughout.

That being said, the "Slum Village" album is pretty good too. Elzhi leaving should have been the last straw but I understand wanting to continue using the name. Brand recognition, however niche or small it may be is still brand recognition.
