Growing up, my pops was extremely Pro-Black and always encouraged me and my older brother to only support NFL teams with black QBs and only be fans of black athletes. (I actually got put on punishment because I chose to do a report on John Elway when I was in third grade). He broke me so I followed...only rooted for NFL teams with black QBs, only bought jersies of black players, Never gave Larry Bird props (Pops was a Magic fan), etc.

Fast-forward to today...All that emphasis on supporting black players for what? Just to find out that most of these cats are card-carrying c00ns...(Cam Newton, Mike Vick, Ray Lewis, etc.)

Mite as well have kept rooting for Elway.:mjcry:

Terrible reasoning. All this time and you still don't understand what we're up against? You want to throw it all away because a couple of brothers jumped on the c00n train?

I hope your pops reads this

I take that back, that might break his heart:mjcry:

:mjlol: :dead: pops was hard on cacs

When I was about 5 this white kid who lived down the street (before all the white people moved out of the neighborhood) wanted to play with me and my brother. We thought nothin of it and was like "cool".

Pops came outside, saw us and was like :camby:"Hell naw. Get in the house." and sent the kid home crying .

Slow ya roll homie. I was raised on the words of Malcom X, Marcus Garvey, Khalid Abdul Muhammad, and Farrakhan.

I'm strictly talkin about rooting for these c00n athletes. Stay in the right lane brother.

In my eyes? No

Me and pops have had debated on Rap numerous times over the years. Just one of those things we don't see eye to eye on.
I have given up in the fact the Coli doesn't know what a c00n really is.

Sports and hip hop kinda goes hand in hand. What was his argument vs yours.

Him: Majority of Hip-Hop is destructive in nature and lacks redeeming quality.

Me: Hip-Hop is a reflection of the grim reality of Black America, which exists in large part because of the way his generation dropped the ball.

So you don't relate to hip hop?

You are arguing with someone who put knowledge in your head as a kid, so technically HE didn't drop the ball.
Gordon Ramsay negged you for your post in the thread SMH. Can't believe I spent so many years rooting for c00ns... With the following comment: he said his generation no
:umad:
I touched a nerve huh? I don't even know how I son'd you, but I did:banderas:

If my pops pounded ACTUAL black leaders teachings such as Malcolm X and Garvey since I was a kid. And when he asked me why I listen to destructive music, If I respond with your generation dropped the ball best believe some furniture gone be moving.

For the most part, I enjoy the aggressive content of Hip-Hop (minus the degradation of women.)

He hit me with knowledge but he DEFINITELY did some foul shyt too. I'm not tryna get that personal though. Let's keep the topic on Sports.
