Part of these "Ban em for good" chants are by these baby boomers wanting "Charlie Hustle" in the HOF.

Now this dude is saying he would have been better off being a drug dealer or wife abuser....and of course...the "go get em', Pete!!" crowd is backing that bullshyt. :childplease:

Shut the fukk up, Pete. He still doesn't get it.

It doesn't exonerate him though. He's clearly trying to lighten his wrongdoing, hiding behind the wrongdoing of others.

Worse of all, he still doesn't get that betting on baseball had a long established rule of permanent banning.

Plus....dumb ass did what he did as a manager.

He should be in. SMH who wasn't betting back then?
:dahell:

No one...and if you were caught...you were banned.

Baseball almost folded because of the Black Sox scandal. The rule was established then. Every player knows the rules coming into the majors. He knew it but didn't care.

Just because baseball hasn't established rules for PEDs doesn't exonerate him.

Pete has been using this angle for a good while now, and with steroids the topic of discussion his opinions are broadcasted louder.

Also, I don't think it necessarily the hall of fame thing that bothers him. You see older guys like Leyland, Charlie Manuel, Davey Johnson still managing, and that's what Pete Rose would be doing if he never got banned, in my opinion.

Of course the ATL
You do realize Pete Rose bet ON his team to WIN right? He wasn't throwing games, he was overly confident that his team would win. Plus he did this as a manager, not a player. Pete Rose wasn't a HOF manager, but is clearly a HOF player. For those that think Pete should remain banned, let me ask you: What has done more to damage the credibility of baseball in the last 30 years? Pete Rose betting on games or the steroids/PED era?

1. How do you know he never bet against his team?
2. There's not a comparison of infractions to be made. Both are wrong and both damage the integrity of the game.
