Not sure if yall are up on the New York Times -The Daily podcasts, but they do excellent, short podcasts that examine events from the previous day. They had one this morning about the effects of this SNAP issue on West Virginians. These ‘billies are hurting. And GOOD! Fuk this inbred trash. One billy on the podcast had the nerve to say “ the democrats started this shutdown and are rich and can afford to eat and we are suffering. That ain’t fare(sic).” Meanwhile yo daddy is lapping it up at golf outings and parties. Fuk. Them.

We really do not speak enough or at all about poor people causing their own pain. Either voting for people that hate their guts or not voting at all, entrenching the dysfunction and income inequality they suffer.

Outside of my personal family I really have stopped caring about the plight of the poor. Why care about them when they do not even care about themselves?

I don't think they compromise. All he has to do is pass the damn health care subsidies. If it were anything else, I think the democrats would compromise, but on this, I think the republicans blink. The math on this has been from the start that republicans blink. Trump I leading them over a cliff.
That's the thing, tho, he may not want or have any intentions of signing the subsidies because, as we all know, he and the GOP just want to cut the ACA altogether. They seem pretty adamant about that.

Unfortunately, it seems that Democrats may need to compromise at this point. The reality is that the Republicans and Trump don't care about looking like the bad guys; rather, they embrace it. Image-wise while it looks good for the Dems to stand firm in showing for the sake of their base, the truth is that there's nothing they can do to prevent the ACA increases, cuts, etc.

Either way, Trump and the GOP are going to get their way by either making the Dems submit or ultimately using the filibuster, it's an L either way. With that realization, I think the Democrats should make the hard choice, as bad as they don't want to, it'll be disappointing but they're the only ones who can end this shutdown and save the livihood of not only SNAP recipients but federal workers, and others suffering from the shutdown, 'cause Trump and his people don't care, they'll let this continue for months without a care in the world.

At this Trump is playing with people's livelihoods.

He is defying a lawful court order right now. What sense would it make for them to compromise right now

Then this is going to drag on.

The only out is they sign or they cut the filibuster and people give them the full unadultured blame for their health care going up in costs.

The republicans need the democrats to blink so they can tell people “see the democrats didn't save you from aca’s failures” and people are dumb enough to resent the democrats more for not stopping the republicans from doing that than they would the republicans for doing it.

I don't think the democrats blink. I think we’re more likely to see the republicans remove the filibuster or them going against the president.

Because by defying the court order it just stalls the process even longer which en route is hurting those on SNAP even more because not only are their benefits for November delayed (now with this news, they might not get it at all) but this also puts December's SNAP in jeopardy and not to mention with the shutdown continuing other programs such as HUD, Section 8, TANF, etc are at stake.

Right now, a food crisis is on the verge of happening, and by December, homelessness will be joining them. Not to mention, many federal workers are already scrambling to make ends meet after not getting paid for over a month.

I think it's really just an education Gap. You kind of have to treat them like children on some "forgive them, for they know not what they do".

With the exception of somebody getting into an accident or getting some critical illness, a lot of poor people lack the basic civic education that you would have to get from a good high school or a decent undergrad program. There is a reason why Trump says the uneducated love him

Him defying the court order to starve people is the craziest part of this. As a party I legit think Republicans are letting him drive them off a cliff. This is all horrible look, after horrible look.

Yeah credit to Schumer that motherfukker is a sneaky bytch. Though I honestly don't think democrats assumed the republicans would let this go this far.

The only way democrats lose on this is if they blink. Everyday this goes on the republicans look worse and worse.

What you aren't understanding is that Trump and them don't care about looking like the villain, over the past 8 years we've witnessed them doing all types of fuked up shyt, embracing being the bad guys, and throughout those 8 years, it didn't convince voters, the people in general why Trump and Republicans in power is bad for the country.

They still voted for him and his party, none of this is going to convince people to perceive Trump or Republicans differently because the ones who need the convincing simply don't care. We gotta stop thinking all this shyt will persuade Trumpers and MAGA to suddenly have an awakening, recognizing the error in their ways.

Nah, his team is doing a good job media wise (it's the one thing they're competent at).

As long as he convinces his supporters that it's because of Democrats and the "Radical Left" they'll never see Trump as at a fault no matter how bad things get for them. There's no reason for him to care what non Trump supporters think.
This may have been true last term but it’s absolutely false now. He’s at a record low approval rating and even Fox News is having a hard time playing defense for him.

The blind pardons and blowing people up in boats in addition to people starving is too much to just dump on democrats like he’s used to doing.

There’s a reason you see a lot of republicans trying to distance themselves; the overarching narrative, even to a stupid Trump voted, is that the republicans run all 3 branches of government, so why can’t they open it?

All of the Truth Social trolling and Elon Musk fueled propaganda on Twitter is not hitting like it once did.

Not all of his supporters are complete morons. R
The fact that Trump is saying to Republicans “get rid of the filibuster” and they are saying no, tells you they know they are fukked up on this.
I don't believe them. All those people would vote for him a fourth time.

It's not like he was a huge success during the first term. Yet they still voted for him after he purposely raised their taxes in order to reduce his own.

It's a cult. Even the ones who say "something might not be right here" are still going to drink the Kool-Aid.

Not the dems problem, u can’t keep letting them have their way, this the only leverage the dem as got right now. Trump and company ain’t playing fair, so u expect the dems to throw away their leverage to be the bigger person and get voted out, if they fold and healthcare go up it’s a high chance a lot of dems get voted out with fresh blood 1000%.

You talking like all of this ain’t Trump them issue, it’s their plan all along. Can’t let the bully win all the time. Enough is enough.
